Capturing a really good likeness of Stuart with a minimum of brush strokes.
This painting was the inspiration for many more portraits. Looking at it reminds me to try some oil sketches from life using as few strokes as possible and considering each stroke.
The colours are electric, but they change radically according to the lighting. All my portraits are photographed out side when the sun has gone behind a cloud to try and get some consistency of colour.
