Study from life 4 x 45minute poses. Kathleen was a great model we had a good chat while painting which I like as you can get to know a person through the sitting. Was very pleased that she found the sitting “easy to do”. I don’t feel that a sitter has to sit completely still, some movement, particularly talking, helps me get a feel for the face – the mouth the eyes.

During the final part of the sitting I introduced a burgundy background but found that it overpowered the skin tones, we were both happier with the final lilac colour!
