An exercise in using a tight crop for composition and losening up my mark making.
I am trying to exploit the transparency of the acrylics which I find really exciting.  I am working on doing this in oils* but I find they need to dry – working allaprima makes it hard to exploit transparency of oil paint as it drags up the underlaying colour.
* New experimentation…I am finding if I do an initial painting in oils and then scrape off so i have a thin base coat of underpainting I can then achieve some interesting flesh tones using transparency…watch this space will post results when I am happy with them.
